LANHAM, MD -- Closet America, a home storage and organizational sytems designer and manufacturer, is the first company in the U.S. to place the Biesse AirForce hot air edgebanding system in its production line.
AirForce is among the new generation hot air edgebanders from several major manufacturers that were a highlight of the Ligna 2013 woodworking show in Germany last year.
The hot air edgebander emits a forceful stream of hot, compressed air through a slot nozzle, directed onto a reactive layer of edgeband material, activating an adhesive that bonds the banding to the panel edge.
The end product results in an invisible glue line similar to that of laser edgebanding, but the machinery is priced more affordably. Biesse's AirForce also picked up an AWFS 2013 Visionary Award.
Closet America added a Biesse Roxyl model edgebander fitted with the AirForce system. It contracted with Rehau to provide the specialized LaserEdge edgeband.
