The Hart 20V String Trimmer/Edger pulls double duty by trimming up those hard-to-reach weeds and grasses around the property and then switching to edge mode to put in those nice, tight lines around your driveway, hardscapes, and landscaping. This tool seems especially targeted towards those with small yards who don’t need multiple tools or extended runtime to get the job done.

The Hart 20V string trimmer/edger has a unique pivoting trimmer head. The feature sets it apart from tools that might opt for multiple heads or even relying on twisting the whole tool sideways to edge. While string trimming around the property, this tool takes on the pretty orthodox form factor that you’re used to. However, when it’s time to trim up the edges of your driveways and patios, you can step on the adjustment lever. This swivels the cutting head so the trimmer line runs vertically.

A variable-speed trigger provides you with adequate control over the work. We were able to easily transition from cutting thick grass to lighter overgrowth with enough precision to extend the battery run-time.

Overall, this string trimmer and edger combo from Hart Tools works pretty well. We think it makes for a great solution for anyone with a very limited amount of property to trim and edge. You can keep your lawn looking neat without breaking into lots of tools and having to find places to store everything in a shed. Of course, the advantages over gas products on a smaller lawn seem even more obvious!
