Green Bay - Eric L. Christensen, 60, of Green Bay, passed away January 14, 2022, at CHI St. Vincent Hospital in Hot Springs, Arkansas with his three sons Chase, Randall and Danny, surrounding him.
Eric was born in Green Bay to John and Betty (Rohs) Christensen on September 23, 1961. He graduated from Green Bay West High School with the class of 1979. He married Jill Broskovetz in 1989.
After receiving his associate's degree in mechanical design from NWTC in 1987, Eric spent his career as a machine designer. In 1995, he started his own business, CRD Design Inc., naming it after his children. His work led him on new adventures in South Carolina, Indiana, Louisiana, Arkansas, and Utah. He designed machines and components from concept to completion for the converting, packaging, food and dairy, heavy industrial trucks, and customer machine manufacturers.
Eric was an immensely creative and out-of-the-box thinker, which he expressed through his woodworking and 3D modeling. Designing and building was his passion. He was very mechanically inclined with a wealth of knowledge when it came to fixing and repairing cars, woodworking, homebuilding, and machine design. While tennis and golf were two of his favorite sports, he also enjoyed bowling and volleyball in rec leagues in his younger days. He loved watching movies, and most of all making fun of them. Above all, he loved spending time with his three sons.
Eric is survived by his sons, Chase, Randall, and Danny, his ex-wife and mother of his children, Jill Dougherty, and seven siblings: Tommy (Debbie) Christensen (New Jersey); Karin (Dian) Boothe (Georgia); Lisa Geohegan (Green Bay); Hans (Lisa) Christensen (Virginia); Janna (Jim) Christensen-Mulvey (Mississippi); Sondra Christensen (Virginia); and John (Missy) Christensen (Texas), nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents.
A celebration of life is planned for later this summer.
