Bosch has two green lasers in their laser level lineup that expand its existing lineup with affordable extended-range models. The Bosch Self-Leveling Green Cross-Line Lasers run on AA batteries but deliver range out to 165-ft. That’s a 65% increase in range over models like the popular GCL100-80CG.

After months of market research and hands-on input from trade professionals, the new Bosch cross-line lasers are brighter, smarter and tougher than leading competitors. Next-level durability and green-line visibility coupled with technology that gives several more hours of on-the-job-battery life make these lasers a must-have tool for any worksite.

The Bosch Self-Leveling Green Cross-Line Levels are the byproduct of months of market research and hands-on input from Pros. The end result is a brighter, smarter, and tougher laser level. Most of us know that green-beam technology projects light 4x brighter and more visible to the human eye than red beams, even in sunlight. Less obvious, are the improvements Bosch made in both range and durability.

Both of the Bosch Self-Leveling Green Cross-Line Lasers have been engineered to withstand the abuse thrown at them on the job. They both feature recessed laser glass windows. An IP64 rating keeps them pretty much impervious to water and dust intrusion. And, a roll cage protects all of these lasers’ major impact points. Earlier lasers featured an IP54 rating which gave them the same water resistance but left them open to extreme dust. These lasers come completely sealed.

Both the GLL100-40G Self-Leveling Cross-Line Laser and GCL100-40G Self-Leveling Combination Laser with Plumb Points also feature Bosch’s VisiMax technology. This monitors tool temperature and power consumption to automatically maximize line visibility. It keeps the tool from overheating while optimizing runtime.

Both lasers include rugged mounting brackets with extra strong magnets for quick setup. In the case of the GCL100-40G, which has plumb points (now green instead of red), the laser comes with an RM10 Rotating Mount. You also get a rotation nob for making fine adjustments on the fly.

The Smart Pendulum System allows these tools to self-level, and it also indicates an out-of-level condition. You can press the button to control laser output modes. You can also lock down the pendulum for transport.

The vertical and horizontal lines (and green laser plumb spots in the case of the GCL100-40G) can fire off at the same time. This makes the Bosch Self-Leveling Green Cross-Line Lasers perfect for carpentry, cabinetry, concrete, electrical, drywall, framing, roofing, plumbing, HVAC, and more.

The Bosch GLL100-40G Self-Leveling Green Cross-Line Laser retails for $249, while the GCL100-40G Self-Leveling Combination Laser with Plumb Points retails for $299. Both come with a 2-year warranty.

on the gcl100-40g is not having a pengelum lock in the on position a issue

I know it may sound odd but does anybody make a laser that can be used off level? I have a sloped ceiling (6:12) where the bottom chords of the trusses are not particularly planar. I would like to have a rotary (or other type) laser to establish a flat plane. I know it will take a lot of adjustment to put it in the right position but once it’s there, I’ll have a perfectly flat [sloped] plane to fur out my ceiling joist to.
